Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is credited for starting modern science's study on children's memories of eyewitnesses, as well as the use of child victims within court settings. Professor Goodman regularly publishes her work and has been awarded many grants and has been recognized with numerous national and international awards. She has collaborated with numerous government agencies and institutions around the globe on studies and policy issues pertaining to children who have been victims of the legal system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of numerous professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). Professor Goodman is an active participant in the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as President of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division of the American Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
